SUMMARY
Gist GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is a new product offering by ProRata. It is aimed at helping brands optimize their visibility within AI-powered search engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and others. This is achieved by measuring brand citations and coverage across AI answers for priority topics, then flagging gaps in coverage, freshness, and verifiable claims. The product turns those findings into recommended topics/briefs and lets teams re-run checks to see the impact.
👀 At a glance
In about 4 months, I delivered the complete MVP prototype for GEO that included: the onboarding, dashboard with different features, reports (Share of Voice, Earned Media, Synthetic Claims, Journey Coverage), and the admin side experience of this product. This rapid prototyping was supported by the components from a scalable design system that I designed to be adopted across all of ProRata's products.
My main contributions were:
Defining user flows for the customer + admin side of the MVP
Strategising the features for MVP to get to parity with competitors
Handing-off high-fidelity first cut designs for these flows to the engineering team
I worked on this with 1 product designer, 1 product manager, and 6 developers to build out the MVP for and get it live to the first users, and also to plan and conduct usability testing to provide a base metric for comparisons with future versions.
What's next?
I will be continuing my work at ProRata as an Associate UX Designer. The next priority is to plan and conduct usability testing for our MVP and to synthesize the findings into actionable insights to inform the next round of revisions and feature planning for Gist GEO.
